 If the student or user you are adding to LON-CAPA will be using the same accountas another system, e.g. email, then your system administrator can tell you which authentication type you should choose.  If you are creating a user that is unique only to LON-CAPA, then select internally authenticated.  If the student or user you are adding to LON-CAPA will be using the same account as another system (ie email), then your system administrator can tell you which authentication type you should choose.  If you are creating a user that is unique only to LON-CAPA, then select "internally authenticated."
