To create a custom role, or edit privileges assigned to an existing role, do the following:

\begin{enumerate}

\item Click "Manage course users" (\includegraphics[width=0.03\paperwidth]{cprv}
\textbf{CUSR}) on the Main Menu, or the remote control (if used).

\item Click the \underbar{Edit Custom Roles} link.

\item Select the role you wish to edit from the drop down menu.

  To create a new role, select \textbf{Generate new role ...} from the
  drop-down menu, and give the new role a name.

\item Click \textbf{Custom Role Editor}.
The screen will display the privileges set, and available to assign to this role.

When creating a new role, buttons are available to use privileges which apply to
standard predefined roles in the system (Course Coordinator, Instructor, Teaching Assistant etc.)
as a starting point for assigning privileges to the new role.

\item Update the privileges you wish to assign to the custom role.

\item Click \textbf{Define Role}.

\end{enumerate}
