                      3: To configure self-enrollment:

                     12: On the \textbf{Configure Self-enrollment} screen settings are available for the following:

                     15: \item Types and affiliations of users who can self-enroll
                     16: \item Restrict self-enrollment to students who are listed as officially
                     17: registered for the course in institutional course roster(s) for sections
                     18: of the course or for crosslisted courses.
                     19: \item Opening date/time for self-enrollment and closing date/time.
                     20: \item Starting and ending dates for access to the course for users who self-enroll. 
                     21: \item Assign a specific section to users who self-enroll
                     22: \end{itemize}
                     23: When self-enrollment is set up a warning will be displayed if the
1.6     ! raeburn    24: course is not listed in the course/community catalog available for the domain.
1.3       bisitz     25: Guidance on how to get the course listed will also be provided if a
1.1       raeburn    26: warning is displayed.

1.5       bisitz     28: If a course is listed in a catalog users when viewing the course/community catalog
1.1       raeburn    29: will be able to search for the course (there is a checkbox to restrict
                     30: courses listed in the catalog display to just those courses for which
                     31: self-enrollment is available). If such courses exist the list of courses
1.2       bisitz     32: will include a self-enroll link for each course. Users
1.5       bisitz     33: can reach the course/community catalog from the Main Menu screen, and also from
1.1       raeburn    34: the roles page. Course Coordinators and other users with advanced
1.5       bisitz     35: roles in the system can also reach the course/community catalog in the same
1.1       raeburn    36: way, although the link on the roles page is less prominent for these
                     37: types of user.
                     38: 
                     39: A user must be logged into LON-CAPA in order to self-enroll in a course.
                     40: However, if your domain permits it, users may be able to create a
1.2       bisitz     41: LON-CAPA account and log-in. Most commonly
1.1       raeburn    42: self-creation of accounts is permitted where a user can authenticate
                     43: with a username and password assigned by your institution to access
                     44: online services provided by the institution. If a user clicks the
1.2       bisitz     45: {}``Enroll in course'' link from the catalog, and needs to
1.1       raeburn    46: create an account, once the account creation step is completed successfully,
                     47: the user will proceed automatically to self-enrollment in the course,
                     48: assuming the user meets any restrictions set for self-enrollment in
                     49: the particular course.
