Web Pages housed on a web server external to the LON-CAPA content network
can be displayed in a LON-CAPA course, within the standard interface, (i.e.,
inline menu including navigation controls, and links/icons), by adding an
External Resource to the course.
If the external server has been configured to disallow display of the
content within another page, LON-CAPA will simply display a link to
the external web page instead of showing the page's content
immediately below the standard LON-CAPA interface elements.

\item Select \textbf{Course Editor} on the Inline Menu or

\textbf{Edit course contents}
within Main Menu.
\item On the in-line menu of the \textbf{Course Editor} screen,
click \fbox{External}. Next click on
\includegraphics[width=0.03\paperwidth]{extres}
\textbf{External Resource}.
\item Type in the title of the web resource you wish to add in the \textbf{Title} text box.
\item Type in the URL of the web resource in the \textbf{URL} text box.
\item Click the \fbox{Preview} button to display the external web page in a pop-up window.
\item Click the \fbox{Add Link} button to add the web resource to the course.

NOTE: Your new resources will be visible the next time you log in, or by \fbox{re-initializing course}.
