1.4     ! bowersj2    1: Supplemental Course Documents are auxiliary files the course
1.3       bowersj2    2: coordinator wants the student to have access to that are not
                      3: necessarily part of the course, such as reference material, handouts,
                      4: ect. This is also useful for files that may not be directly viewable
1.4     ! bowersj2    5: or usable in a browser, such as PowerPoint pesentations and Word
1.3       bowersj2    6: documents. Supplemental documents differ in how the material is
                      7: presented to the student. The student will not see the supplemental
                      8: documents unless they click DOCS on the remote control. Manipulating
                      9: supplemental course documents is essentially identical to main course
                     10: documents, except that main course documents has some options that is
                     11: not available in the supplemental documents. Specifically, you cannot
                     12: add a \textbf{Navigate Content} page, a
                     13: \textbf{Simple Page}, or \textbf{Bulletin Board} since those should be
                     14: in the course sequence. Like the Main Course Documents, you can still
                     15: add a \textbf{New Folder} (\ref{Docs_Adding_Folders}), add an
                     16: \textbf{External Resource} (\ref{Docs_Adding_External_Resource}), add
                     17: a \textbf{Syllabus} (\ref{Docs_Creating_From_Template}), or add your
                     18: \textbf{My Personal Info} page (\ref{Docs_Creating_From_Template}).

1.3       bowersj2   20: Changes made to supplemental course documents, such as adding new
                     21: resources, changing the order, renaming or removing resources will be
                     22: visible the next time you log in, or by clicking the
                     23: \textbf{re-initializing course} button on the course document screen, whichever
                     24: comes first.

                     26: Note: Main Course Documents and Supplemental Course Documents do not
                     27: carry over from one course to another. If you would like to create
                     28: documents that can be used in multiple courses, please ask you
                     29: LON-CAPA Domain Coordinator about becoming an Author.
