Annotation of loncom/html/adm/help/tex/Docs_Supplemental.tex, revision 1.5
1.4 bowersj2 1: Supplemental Course Documents are auxiliary files the course
1.3 bowersj2 2: coordinator wants the student to have access to that are not
3: necessarily part of the course, such as reference material, handouts,
1.5 ! www 4: etc. This is also useful for files that may not be directly viewable
! 5: or usable in a browser, such as PowerPoint presentations and Word
1.3 bowersj2 6: documents. Supplemental documents differ in how the material is
7: presented to the student. The student will not see the supplemental
8: documents unless they click DOCS on the remote control. Manipulating
9: supplemental course documents is essentially identical to main course
10: documents, except that main course documents has some options that is
11: not available in the supplemental documents. Specifically, you cannot
12: add a \textbf{Navigate Content} page, a
13: \textbf{Simple Page}, or \textbf{Bulletin Board} since those should be
14: in the course sequence. Like the Main Course Documents, you can still
15: add a \textbf{New Folder} (\ref{Docs_Adding_Folders}), add an
16: \textbf{External Resource} (\ref{Docs_Adding_External_Resource}), add
17: a \textbf{Syllabus} (\ref{Docs_Creating_From_Template}), or add your
18: \textbf{My Personal Info} page (\ref{Docs_Creating_From_Template}).
1.1 bowersj2 19:
1.3 bowersj2 20: Changes made to supplemental course documents, such as adding new
21: resources, changing the order, renaming or removing resources will be
22: visible the next time you log in, or by clicking the
23: \textbf{re-initializing course} button on the course document screen, whichever
24: comes first.
25:
26: Note: Main Course Documents and Supplemental Course Documents do not
27: carry over from one course to another. If you would like to create
28: documents that can be used in multiple courses, please ask you
29: LON-CAPA Domain Coordinator about becoming an Author.
