1.2 ! raeburn 3: After a slot has been created, you must assign the `Use slot based access controls' (useslots) parameter to one or more resources and/or folders in order to use the slot. One way to do this is to display the Course Contents listing page, then open folders as necessary, and click on a particular resource to display. Next, click `Content Settings' in the Functions menu above the rendered resource.
1.1 rezaferr 4:
1.2 ! raeburn 5: Set the open date and the due date (if any). To do this, for each parameter's row, click the wrench symbol (\includegraphics[width=0.015\paperwidth]{editmap}) in the `in Course' `for Resource' column (if setting for a resource) or in the `for Enclosing Map or Folder' column, if setting for all resources in a folder. In the pop-up window enter the desired date and click the `Save' link.  Similarly, set the 'Use slot based access controls' to yes in the column: for `in Course' `for Resource' (or `for Enclosing Map or Folder'), if setting for all resources in a folder.
1.1 rezaferr 6:
1.2 ! raeburn 7: If the slot you created is an instructor-assigned slot then you will also set a value for the 'Slots of availability' parameter (`in Course' `for Resource' (or `for Enclosing Map or Folder') column, as appropriate. The value you enter will be the name of the slot you created. In the pop-up window the input type (combo box at the top of the popup) should be: `String Value'.  If more than one instructor-assigned slot will apply to to a particular resource, use : as the separator between the slot names.
