  - Initial use case is for a separate portal (toke-based auth) where students

  - "textbook" can have different uploaded content quota, default credits etc.

Bug 4813.  Retain backwards compatibility with legacy courses in which only a course owner's username is stored in environment.internal.courseowner, and in the course's record in nohist_courseids.db.  New courses will include username:domain (escaped) in nohist_courseids.db.  MCRS can be used to update legacy course owner information (just click "Modify Settings" button, it will be necessary to select the correct course owner where the course domain is different from the owner's domain.

XML used to describe courses can now include course type (Course or Group), and course disk quota (disk quota for all portfolio files in course groups).

Changes in arguments passed to &finishuserfileupload() and &store_edited_file() in lonnet rev. 1.638 need to be propagated to modules that call the routines.

Most functionality in create_course() now moved to new subroutine - construct_course(), so that loncreatecourse::construct_course() can be called by a batch process to create course(s) based on an XML file(s) describing course attributes. See bug #1273.

Revert to adding sections or crosslistings for which courseowner access to institutional data is unauthorized. (as in v 1.64) Access to classlist data will be denied by logic in localenroll.pm, but localenroll.pm will automatically check if permission has been granted each time Autoenroll.pl runs (see modules/msu/localenroll.pm v. 1.13).

Work on Bug #2999

- I don't think Dump Course actually worked anymore. Somehow, a "/"-prefix
was added to the directory listings, which is messing things up big time.

See Bug #3161.

Include institutional course code in nohist_courseids.db.
Format of entries in nohist_courseids.db now -
course_id = description:institutional code:last activity
both (keys and values are escaped).
lonnet::courseiddump now returns escaped values in hash (keys are unescaped),
to preserve the : separator between description and institutional code.

Calls to functions in localenroll.pm mediated by lonc/lond now include domain
in the set of passed parameters to support domain-specific variants in a single
localenroll.pm file housed on a multi-domain library server.

Automated enrollment now sets first access and last access dates for student
roles based on defaults set on course creation, and modifiable via a number
of mechanisms in the Enrollment Manager, and Automated Enrollment Manager.

The Automated Enrollment Manager now provides a utility to allow enrollment type
to be toggled between 'auto' and 'manual', so that students added via CSV file
or singly can become liable for automated update (dropping, section switching
etc.).

Fix bug #3062

Changes to support autoenroll calls from a remote server.

lond on the homeserver for the course(s) handles requests from the remote
server for institutional data (e.g., classlists, valid institutional courseIDs,
institutional section numbers for a course code, validation of course owners), by
calling the appropriate functions in the homeserver's localenroll.pm

All replies are made directly with the exception of fetch_enrollment_query, which
is shipped over to lonsql, in case retrieval of institutional classlists is a
protracted process.

lonsql on the homeserver for the course(s) calls localenroll::fetch_enrollment()
and writes XML files of enrollment data to /home/httpd/perl/tmp

Transfer of classlist data occurs later following an autoretrieve call from the
remote server. It is planned to generalize this function and add encryption to the transfer back to the client.

Autoenroll.pl called by cron on a library server, now only carries out updates for
courses in its domain, for which the library server is the course's homeserver. If a domain has multiple library servers Autoenroll.pl will need to be run on each library server.

Also moved CC on course creation screen down to the bottom - it had gotten
lost between all of the other settings.

Flush log buffers immediately after user role changes, so that reverse
lookup works right away.

Localization is done.

Removed a print to STDERR left in from debugging.

Added calls to &localenroll:new_course to add course sections and crosslistings to LONCAPA table, and to check if course owner - i.e, the initial course coordinator - is a valid faculty instructor for these sections and crosslistings, according to RO CLIFMS table.

Default autoenroll start and end times set to now and 6 months hence. Changes to some other default settings as per Matthew's suggestions.

Replaced local versions of javascript_validations and date_setting_table with calls to londropadd.pm to retrieve these functions, customized based on passed parameter - $mode = 'createcourse'.  This now supports entry of default authentication method and start and end dates for automated enrollment process.

Added form elements to support setting of parameters for automated classlist updates, and saving of these choices to internal.parameter keys in the new course's environment.db GDBM file.

no sense. Need to selectively move over.

Not that it makes much of a difference ... at least it is correct.

   lonparmset.pm, loncreatecourse.pm, and course.initialization.helper
       now all allow setting $ENV{'course.'.$courseid.'.plc.roles.deny'}
       lonparmset.pm also allows the user to set
       $ENV{'course.'.$courseid.'.plc.users.deny'}
   lonmenu.pm was modified to allow us to require the user both be in
       a course AND have permissions.
   mydesk.tab, roles.tab, and rolesplain.tab were modified to include the
       new role.

Added 'grading' parameter to course creation and course parameters.

Bug #1689: Users get confused between browsing the local file system and
browsing RES.

The official word is now "Select".

When courses are created, mark that we have not yet done the course
initialization helper.

This should be the last piece of: When a CC first enters a new course,
